It's purely a natural disaster

If the earthquake and resultant tsunami were sent by God as punishment for ignoring Him as one letter writer has suggested, He (or She) must be a cruel, vindictive God to murder thousands of innocent children, some of whom were too young to have ever heard of Him or Her.

I prefer to think of it as a natural disaster. My God would be an everloving and secure God who does not get so upset because some people did not pay enough attention to Him as to kill thousands of innocent children shortly after he created them.
