ITB launches 'cyberlib' campaign
BANDUNG: The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) is planning this weekend a seminar on libraries in the future, which will feature the high-tech information retrieval systems of the Internet and CD-ROM, Antara reported on Tuesday.
Organizer Tina Danubrata said the ITB library has adopted the so-called "cyberlib" from which visitors access E-mail and information from other libraries and CD-ROM.
"With the use of CD-ROM, we will have a more efficient use of space because there's no need for so many book-lined shelves," she said.
Speakers at the seminar will include Nick Mawdsley of the British Council, Nello Angerilli of Simon Fraser University in Canada and Ismail Fahmi of ITB. (swe)
