Isuzu, Mitsubishi release safer buses
TOKYO: Isuzu Motors Ltd and Mitsubishi Motors Corp have independently released large sightseeing buses with improved safety features.
The new buses meet European body reinforcing standards. Both companies will stress improved safety features in an attempt to boost sales to offset a sluggish domestic market.
Isuzu's Gala is the first large bus in Japan to be equipped with an air bag for the driver.
Its sides and floor have been reinforced, offering enhanced safety for passengers.
Mitsubishi Motors Aero Queen and Aero Bus series feature enhanced anticollision materials and a shock-absorbing steering wheel.
