ISO-9001 for Garuda

JAKARTA (JP): Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia's aviation training center (GAT) received on Wednesday an ISO-9001 certificate from German TUV International.

Garuda's vice president for corporate communications Pujobroto said GAT was awarded the certificate for having its operation and management comply with the international standard set by Switzerland's International Organization for Standardization.

He said GAT currently has five cabin simulators and other facilities for air and ground service training.

GAT provides training for crews of various local and overseas airlines, such as Garuda, local carriers Pelita Air Service, Mandala and Bouraq and foreign carriers Silk Air, Air Niugini, Libyan Arab Air and Philippine Airlines. (cst)
