Islamic Center dedicated

AMBON, Maluku: Minister of Religious Affairs Tarmizi Taher
opened the Rp 1 billion (US$425,000) Islamic Center here on
Monday, Antara reported yesterday.

Tarmizi donated Rp 70 million to the Al-Fatah Grand Mosque
Foundation which manages the center, which aims to propagate
Islam in the area.

The center, which occupies 1,650 square meters, can
accommodate 1,000 people. (pan)
