IPTN, Fokker sign deal

JAKARTA (JP): The nation's aircraft company, Nusantara Aircraft Industry (IPTN), signed on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding with Fokker Elmo BV, a subsidiary of Dutch aircraft company Fokker, to build electrical aircraft applications.

Under the agreement, ITPN will build Fokker Elmo electrical aircraft applications after first sending its workers to the Netherlands to study the applications.

IPTN's acting president, S. Paramajuda, said this year the company planned to sell eight units of its CN-235 aircraft to South Korea, three units to the Indonesian Armed Forces and manufacture aircraft components for Casa, Boeing and Airbus. (bkm/25)
