IPB selects 41 rector candidates

BOGOR: The Rector Election Committee of the Bogor Institute of
Agriculture (IPB) has shortlisted 41 people from 176 registered
candidates for the rector election.

The Election Committee Chairman Ismudi Muchsin said that the
candidates consist of lecturers from the institute and prominent
figures from outside the institute.

He said that the next selection will get underway in the first
week of October. "First we'll check their administrative
requirements and then interview them. Then, we'll select 15 out
of the 41 candidates to undergo the next process of the
election," he said.

After that, he added, the 15 candidates will be eliminated to
nine candidates and then later in November to five candidates.

He said that the IPB's Board of Trustees would elect one of
the five candidates to become the new rector of the
institute.--JP
