IPB plans technology park

BOGOR (JP): The Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB) will develop a 250-hectare environment and technology park at its Dermaga campus here, rector Arman Wirakartakusumah said on Saturday.

He said the project was designed to help maximize the campus' existing human resources and facilities, including extensive laboratories and gardens.

"We hope the park will be useful for students, lecturers and local residents as well," he said in his speech during a graduation ceremony.

Arman said IPB developed various types of estates, including for the cultivation of fruit and herbs, plantation produce and fisheries.

"The development of the park is also aimed at creating entrepreneurship among students, lecturers and local residents," he added. (24/jun)
