IPB introduces cleanliness drive

BOGOR: In a bid to increase public awareness about the necessity of keeping the environment clean, the Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB) will hold a drive called "Selasih" (Selasa Sehat Bersih or Clean and Healthy Tuesday).

The drive will focus on getting people to dispose of garbage properly, explained IPB official Herry Suhardiyanto.

As well as urging people to dispose of garbage properly, groups of IPB students will clean the campus of rubbish every Tuesday.

The institute will also assess the environmental condition of each department and reward those considered successful in maintaining a healthy environment. -- Antara
