Investors sought for gold mining

SEMARANG, Central Java: A senior official here appealed to investors on Wednesday to put money into the gold mining industry in Wonogiri regency.

Sudanti, the head of the Settlement and Land Office at the Central Java provincial administration, said putting money into the gold mining industry would benefit investors because the regency boasted large gold deposits.

A feasibility study conducted by the Research Department of the National Development University two years ago indicated that almost one ton of gold deposits were located in Jendi and Boto subdistricts, Sudanti said. -- Antara
