Investors or retired people?

Referring to the letter written by a Mr. Eskapa (the owner of Izzi Pizza) letter in The Jakarta Post, on May 21, as an Indonesian I feel insulted.
* First there is his assumption that Indonesians must work as cooks, drivers or helpers for European citizens who decide to retire in Indonesia. Why? Does he want to make our country one large retirement village?
* I agree about exporting our workers abroad as long as they receive added value for their services or at least have decent working conditions.
* Let us consider the following facts: In Europe most carers for the elderly get at least 1,000 euro a month -- more than Rp 10 million) excluding pensions and health insurance if they work legally.

Compared this with Eskapa's suggestion where a driver here may earn 90 euro or Rp 1 million, a cook gets about same, and a maid, nanny or nurse may earn even less (about 50 euro or around Rp 500,000)

This explains why a many Filipinos go to Europe to work as maids, nurses and nursing home staff in Europe.
* It would be better to invite long-term investors than elderly people who can make only a short-term contribution to an economy. If Eskapa wants to invite his parents here it should be his own decision and business -- not the government's concern.
* I know, Mr. Eskapa, that you have a pizza business here -- and I hope you pay your workers decent salaries and provide them with health insurance and other benefits.
* And why not start a business exchange program? You could begin a business here with your parents and we young Indonesians could go and manage your interests in your country -- the United Kingdom. Is it a deal?
