Int'l kite festival staged at Ancol
JAKARTA: Beachgoers will be able to enjoy the 2004 Jakarta International Kite Festival at the Karnaval beach in Ancol, North Jakarta, between July 9 and July 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
The 12th kite festival, held to coincide with the commemoration of the city's official 477th anniversary this year, will see kite aficionados from 11 foreign countries, including Greece, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Australia. Two dimensional and three dimensional kites of various shapes and sizes will be flown during the event.
At least 14 provinces in the country will also participate in the event. Visitors can also take part in kite workshops and browse at an exhibition of regional handicrafts at the same venue. -- JP
