Inti wins $16m contracts

BANDUNG (JP): State-owned telecommunications equipment producer PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Inti) has won US$16 million worth of contracts to supply and maintain telecommunications networks installed by private firms.

Inti spokesman Suhasri U.N. said yesterday the contracts included a $5.1-million deal with PT Mitra Global to maintain a switching system in Central Java, an $8.1-million deal with PT Pramindo Ikat for a telecommunications project in Sumatra and an Rp 1.84-billion ($780,000) contract with PT Bukaka Singtel for 650 multi-coin pay phones to be installed in eastern provinces.

He said PT Ariawest had also awarded Inti a Rp 297-million deal for 100 multi-coin pay phones to be installed in West Java, and that PT Dayamitra had awarded it an Rp 826.32-million deal for telecommunications switches to be installed in Kalimantan.

Last August, Inti got an ISO-9001 certificate for its digital telephone exchange products. (21/icn)
