Internet tunes into cars

LOS ANGELES: Tuning the car through the Internet? Well, United States company AllPen Software has introduced the EmbeddedWeb Server, a new technology that, among its uses, can handle remote automobile diagnostics.

The new technology provides a means for remote devices to share and publish data to standard Web browsers anywhere in the world.

AllPen Software is already working with Daimler-Benz to perfect the technology.

By placing AllPen's lightweight EmbeddedWeb web server technology inside a consumer product, for example, a car, it can be easily accessed and/or controlled through the Internet from standard web browsers.
