Intercity programs enter Internet
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Intercity Cooperation Agency and the Center for Information and Development Studies (Cides) signed an agreement on the establishment of an Internet service called City-Net.
The agreement was signed Friday by H. Abdul Munir, the agency's secretary-general, and Adi Sasono, chairman of Cides, and was witnessed by Jakarta Deputy Governor of Economic and Development Affairs Tb.M. Rais.
Rais said that the new service was expected to further enhance intercity development cooperation.
"City-Net will function as an information source for both public and business communities. It can also be effectively used to promote city administrations' programs," he said.
Things covered in the agreement include city development, city quality improvement, human resource development and city pilot projects. (hhr)
