Intellectuals are unbiased

In his article Stigmatizing Islam into extremism', The Jakarta Post, Jan.10, Mr. Adian Husaini clearly demonstrated that he is as blind as the Israelis. To subscribe to the idea that any group of leaders would condone the slaughter of 6 million of its own people simply to curry favorable world opinion is ludicrous. Why wouldn't one million be sufficient? Mr. Adian has demonstrated very well the self-serving characteristic of placing blame where it does not belong.

There are many true Muslim intellectuals in Indonesia. Mr. Adian should understand that for one to become an intellectual, one must first be unbiased, then informed. I would suggest that Mr. Adian needs to do some research on the activities of the Mujahideen in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of the Russians. Since the Russisans left, the Mujahideen have been engaged in a civil war, killing other Muslims.
