Integrated mining data center

JAKARTA (JP): The Ministry of Mines and Energy has announced plans to create an integrated data center to give investors easier access to mining data.

The ministry said in a statement on Friday that thus far two departments at the ministry -- the directorates general of mining and of geology and mineral resources -- have run their own data centers, despite the fact that the information is closely related.

It said both directorates signed agreements on Wednesday to collect their data into one integrated data center at the directorate general of mining.

"With the creation of the center, we hope it will be easier for interested parties to access all the existing mining data," the ministry statement said. (jsk)
