Info technology planned
JAKARTA (JP): The Ministry of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications will organize a conference later this month to discuss information technology, domestic competitiveness and the global economy.
The conference will be held in cooperation with the World Bank from April 24 to April 26 at PT Indosat's headquarters in Jakarta.
The event will discuss a number of subjects, including policies on national information development, opportunities to export the products and services of information technology and the investment niche of information technology.
Some 200 officials and business executives are expected to attend the conference, which will feature Minister of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications Joop Ave and the ministry's secretary-general, Jonathan L. Parapak, as speakers.
Other speakers will include the special assistant for information technology from the office science and technology policy of the U.S. White House, Michael R. Nelson, and the chairman of the Singapore National Computer Board, Stephen Yeo. (icn)
