Inflation rises 0.57%
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia recorded a month-on-month inflation rate of 0.57 percent for November, up 0.15 percentage points on last November's rate, the Ministry of Finance announced yesterday.
Inflation for October was 0.41 percent.
November's inflation was mostly caused by a 1.67 percent rise in the food price index. Housing prices rose 0.03 percent, clothing 0.1 percent and miscellaneous goods and services 0.1 percent.
Accumulated inflation for the first 11 months of this year is 5.92 percent, compared with 7.85 percent for the same period of last year.
Indonesia, after years of high inflation, recorded monthly deflation three times this year. A month-on-month deflation rate of 0.61 percent was reported in March, 0.07 percent in July and 0.04 percent in September. (rid)
