COPPER PORT: PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara operates a port near its
mine in Batu Hijau, Sumbawa, to ship the company's copper and
gold concentrates to overseas smelting plants.

TAILINGS DISPOSAL: PT Freeport Indonesia has developed three
phases of reclamation at its Ajkwa Deposit Area -- recent
tailings disposal (at top), a natural succession of local
grasses, shrubs and trees (middle) and agricultural tests
(bottom).
