Indra's jazz show canceled

A performance by the renowned jazz musician Indra Lesmana for
Sept. 23 and 24 has been canceled due to lack of funds and a
tight schedule, said the manager of Indra's group, Java Jazz.

"There was too little time for us to be able to find
sponsors," said Roy Mesmana, adding that the group has a number
of other commitments.

"We will arrange the Java Jazz show for a more convenient
time..," Mesmana wrote in a letter to the director of the Gedung
Kesenian Jakarta, Farida Feisol.

The group's performance was scheduled to be a part of the
third Jakarta International festival of the Performing Arts,
which runs through Oct. 1. (anr)
