Indonesian workers abroad

From Republika

I would like to comment on the advertisements for employment opportunities abroad.

Most companies/agents are asking high fees from potential workers. For example an agent can ask a fee of Rp 7,150,000 from its client for two years employment in Japan, with a net salary of 180,000 yen (Rp 3,880,000) per month. And in Taiwan a worker can get a Rp 1,100,000 monthly salary, from which the agent asks a fee of Rp 3,500,000.

This is obviously too burdensome for the would-be workers. Very often, as a result of this, the potential workers give up their plan to get employed abroad.
