Indonesian rowers going for gold

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's female rowing crew was told to defend its gold medal at the world's invitational dragon boat race in Singapore from June 22 to June 23.

The Indonesian Rowing Association's chairman Basuki yesterday also told the association's male team to keep up its winning streak at the international dragon boat race festival in Hong Kong due to be held at the same time.

After taking part in the two boat races, the crews, each consisting of 52 rowers, are scheduled to participate in the second Asian rowing championships due to start the day after the races end. (arf)
