Indonesian Night organized in Seoul
JAKARTA: As part of Indonesia's Independence Day celebrations, the Indonesian Embassy in South Korea organized "Indonesian Night" recently in Seoul, the embassy said in a press release sent to The Jakarta Post.
Indonesia celebrated its Independence Day on Aug. 17.
With the theme "A Walk through the Archipelago", the event mesmerized 600 guests, mostly South Korean officials -- including Minister of Maritime and Fisheries Oh Geo-don -- businesspeople, legislators, academicians and diplomats, at the Hotel Grand Hyatt in the South Korean capital.
"The event contained photo as well as silver ornament exhibitions, traditional Indonesian dances like Jaipongan, Tari Baris, Tari Saman and Tari Nandak Ganjen, batik shirts were modeled on the catwalk. Indonesian drinks like Balinese coffee, Bali liquor and Hatten Wine were served to guests," the release said.
Besides Indonesian Night, the embassy also organized the 7.5- kilometer Indonesia Run 2005, in which around 2,000 people took part. -- JP
