Indonesian children win int'l drawing contest on Egypt
The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mohamed El Sayed Taha (center), awarded on Tuesday medals and certificates to 26 Indonesian children who had been selected as winners of a biannual competition titled Egypt in the Eyes of Children of the World.
The children submitted their drawings on Egypt, including subjects like Egyptian gods, the River Nile, or Egyptian fisherman, in 2002. After a drawn-out judging process the result was announced almost three years later.
Seven children won gold medals for different categories according to age and theme; seven others won silver medals while the rest won a variety of prizes.
"Egypt has held the competition since the 1960s. It aims to enhance its relationship with countries all over the world," Taha said.--Evi Mariani
