Indomobil secures order

JAKARTA (JP): Local car producer PT Indomobil Sukses International has secured an order from the Khansons Group of Bangladesh to export 4,000 Suzuki-Carry vans to the country.

Indomobil's president Soebronto Laras said on Saturday that about 1,200 of the vans would be used for public transportation.

"About 600 units which will be used for the public transportation have already been shipped to the country," he was quoted as saying by Bisnis Indonesia.

In addition to Bangladesh, Indomobil also exports its vehicles to ASEAN countries such as Cambodia, Malaysia and Myanmar.

The Khansons Group's Chairman A.K.M. Azizur Rahman Khan stated that his company imported from Indomobil due to the good quality of Indomobil's cars.

"We are not importing from India despite the low prices because the Indian vehicles are of lower quality compared to Indonesian ones," he said. ((03)
