Indo.com sells arts

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian travel portal Indo.com announced on Wednesday the launch of its online service to facilitate the sale and purchase of arts and crafts over the Internet.

The Internet portal operator said that through the online marketplace, producers of arts and crafts in Indonesian would be able to reach potential buyers worldwide, and in turn buyers would be able to find comprehensive information about qualified sources for the country's arts and crafts products.

The Craft.Indocom, a B-2-B business of Indo.com, was launched to coincide with the Resources Indonesia Export Products Expo, which was officially opened at the Jakarta Fairground on Wednesday.

The website's manager, Dennis Walker, said producers of arts and crafts had to pay an annual fee of Rp 500,000 to join the service.(hen)
