Indo-U.S. relations

There can be no meaningful improvement in Indo-U.S. relations without the U.S. accepting India as an equal and a country free to develop its nuclear arsenal and an effective global delivery system in keeping with its threat perceptions. It is not enough to claim that the U.S. now recognizes that there has been a China-aided proliferation in the region and India has legitimate security concerns. While China is aiding proliferation, Pakistan is the beneficiary. The U.S. continues to be brazenly indulgent toward Pakistan and to woo China ardently. Surely, there has to be more tangible evidence of a better U.S. understanding of this country's security concerns.
