Indian independence

Many thanks for the wide coverage given to the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Indian Independence. The article India still popular with most nations by Gwynne Dyer (Aug. 15) was also very interesting.

However, there was one inaccuracy. It was stated that two Sikhs and one Moslem have been presidents of India. The fact is that two Moslems (Mr. Zakir Hussain and Mr. Fakruddin Ali Ahmed) and one Sikh (Mr. Zail Singh) have occupied the high post. One more Moslem, Mr. Hidayatullah, was India's vice president for a term.
