Indian book fair at TIM
Jakarta (JP) : The National Book Trust of India and the Indian Embassy have organized an Indian book exhibition.
With nearly 1,250 books on various subjects from Indian history to medicine, the event will be held at the Taman Ismail Marzuki arts center in Central Jakarta from Aug.5 to Aug. 11.
The exhibition, which includes a special section on children's books, will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The National Book Trust is an autonomous organization that was set up in 1957 to promote books and reading.
India currently publishes around 50,000 books annually, up to 40 percent or which are printed in English. Organizers say India's books are priced lower than books from most other countries. (25)
