Income tax for expatriates

The recent improvement in President Abdurrahman Wahid's eyesight is evident in his statement pertaining to the abolition of the ministerial decree on higher severance pay.

Mr. Wahid states that "foreign people want to help us but we make trouble for them". A real eye opener indeed coming from a man who is considered to be clinically blind!

However, as his vision is not yet 20/20, perhaps another visit to his ophthalmologist is required so he can see the light on the issues of a 35 percent income tax for expatriates and the US$50 tourist visa to be imposed on visitors to Indonesia.
