Inappropriate remark

I would like to respond to David Wallis' letter dated April 16 entitled Who to give the money to in Aceh. The majority will share Wallis' concerns that money destined to Aceh should reach and benefit the communities affected by the tsunami.

However I hope that the majority will also have been irritated by his persistent reference to the ethnic group that the majority of the "shallow and misguided" committee members came from. Any remark which can leave a reader thinking that a bad decision results from the ethnic identity of the decision-maker is in my view inappropriate and inflammatory. It shows bad judgment and insensitivity on the part of the contributor.
