In the hot seat

STOCKHOLM: You've got to hand it to those Swedes, particularly Saab. The cold climate must breed innovation.

Saab has just introduced the world's first ventilated passenger car front seats.

The seats are designed to complement Saab's heating and cooling system by offering customers the added benefit of whole- body airflow.

The feature will be available on Saab's new 9-5 early next year. The ventilated seats have two three-speed fans of thin diameter, one in the backrest and one in the seat cushion. They are designed to draw warm air away from the seat.
