In-flight meal service
I am writing in response to Mr. Welly Chandra's letter of Dec. 21, 1996 titled Quality of SQ service. We have just completed our investigation with our Cabin Crew Division in Singapore. Mr. Chandra wrote that he was asleep during the in-flight meal service, and after he woke up, he was not served any food.
We wish to apologize to Mr. Chandra for not serving him a meal on our flight. During the meal service, our crew did, in fact, attempt to wake him to offer him brunch, but without success. As it is not unusual for a passenger to prefer to sleep, our crew believed that Mr. Chandra was probably too tired and did not wish to be woken up for food. Consequently, the crew did not offer to serve him again, when he awoke.
Sometimes, despite their best efforts, crew members make errors in judgment.
We sincerely hope that Mr. Chandra accepts our explanation.
