Important Dates
April 25, 1983: The Jakarta Post is launched, consisting of an eight-page edition in broadsheet format.
1992: The 12-page edition begins printing daily.
1994: The Post goes global, with its content becoming available through major international database companies on the same day of printing.
Sept. 18, 1994: The Sunday Post, a 12-page, color edition, is launched.
1996: Edition moves up to 16-page daily.
May 1999: The Jakarta Post website, www.thejakartapost.com goes online.
Oct. 1, 2001: The Post appears with a new design of 20 pages in broadsheet format, narrower than the previous version and using color pages.
