IMA selects new board

JAKARTA: The Indonesian Mining Association (IMA) has
maintained B.N. Wahyu of PT Ingold as chairman, while installing
Richard B. Ness of PT Newmont as deputy chairman for the 2003 to
2005 period.

The association said in a statement on Thursday that voting
had been held during the association's monthly meeting here last
Wednesday.

Ness replaced Noke Kiroyan of PT Kaltim Prima Coal, who served
as deputy chairman to Wahyu in the previous period.

The voting also named Peter Jackson of PT Placer Dome as
treasurer, Paul Coutrier as executive director and Joe Widartoyo
as executive secretary.

The statement said the highest authority in the association
lay with the board of directors, comprising 20 people
representing exploration, production and service companies. -- JP
