I'm put firmly in my place

Thank you Ms. Marianne Tjahyadi (The Jakarta Post, Feb. 7, 2000: Least cruel people? Get real) for putting me so firmly in my place. Then I at least must obviously be extremely grateful for not living in the "real world".

Perhaps it would have been more constructive to have qualified my statement. It should have read, "Indonesians by nature are the least deliberately cruel". A generalization of course, and given that circumstances and enticement can make devils out of all of us.
