Illegal night spots in Tangerang

TANGERANG: Many nightspots in Tangerang are allegedly operating without permits.

An example of the illegal operation is found in the Lippo Karawaci's Pinangsia Office Park.

A Lippo Karawaci information office staff member told The Jakarta Post on Monday that there were eight places categorized as amusement centers which illegally operated in the commercial complex, including a karaoke lounge, a massage parlor, a sauna bath house and restaurants.

An official at the municipal tourism agency, Iryani, admitted that none of the eight places had applied for a permit. She said that her office had sent warnings to them, but they were just ignored.--JP
