IFC to meet Susilo over investment

JAKARTA: International Finance Corporation (IFC) executive vice president Peter Woicke is scheduled to meet President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Minister of Finance Yusuf Anwar and other members of the economic team during his visit to Jakarta from Oct. 28 to Oct. 29.

The IFC is the investment arm of the World Bank.

Woicke's visit will strengthen the IFC's commitment in supporting the new government to improve the local investment climate and promote sustainable development of the private sector, said a press release received by The Jakarta Post on Tuesday.

Woicke, who is also World Bank managing director, is to launch the bank's World Development Report 2005, A Better Investment Climate for Everyone, and discuss issues relevant to the country.

The report suggests that governments improve their investment climate by reducing policy-related risks and costs, as well as competition barriers faced by enterprises. -- JP
