If the governor hates tobacco...

KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: Governor La Ode hates tobacco so much that he refuses to sign any documents smelling of cigarette smoke.

"You can expect me to refuse any documents that smell of tobacco," he told his senior staff in a meeting here yesterday.

The governor said he wants to help national and international anti-smoking campaigns. He criticized his staff who smoke while typing.

"They don't seem to realize that smoking is dangerous, not only for their health but it can also wreck the computers," he was quoted by Antara as saying.

The governor complained that some employees ignored his smoke- free office rule by smoking in secret. (pan)
