Hypermart opened in Makassar

JAKARTA: Retailer PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk has planned to
expand by opening 10 Hypermart stores -- including its seventh
one, which was opened last week in Makassar -- 11 Matahari
department stores and between 20 and 25 Timezone game centers.

"The success of Hypermarts lie in five things: convenience,
easy to shop, bright, quality guarantee and low price," said Noel
Trinder, CEO of Matahari Supermarket, in a statement.

"It is our vision to turn Matahari Hypermart, the local
hypermarket, to be the market leader within the next five years
to compete against foreign retail companies," he said.

Currently, Matahari has 78 department stores, 53 supermarkets
including the hypermarkets and 105 Timezone game centers. -- JP
