Husband kills wife after discovering she was unfaithful

JAKARTA (JP): A husband killed his wife on Thursday morning at their food stall on Jl. Kecapi in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, after he discovered her sleeping with a construction worker.

Buang Rudi, 41, who is being held at the Jagakarsa Police station, told journalists he killed his wife, Icih, 40, after he discovered her sleeping with Rudi, a construction worker involved in building a house next to his stall.

Buang said he and his wife first met Rudi two weeks ago, when he began eating breakfast, lunch and dinner at their stall.

"Since Rudi was our customer and even gave money to me and my wife, I let him sleep in the stall with us. But last week, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw my wife and him under the same blanket having sex," he said.

Buang said he forgave his wife when she showed him the Rp 250,000 Rudi had given to her. "Since I am unemployed, I did not say anything to my wife."

However, Buang again caught his wife and Rudi sleeping together on Wednesday night. He said that as soon as Rudi left the stall, he took an iron bar and beat his wife to death.

Jagakarsa Police chief Adj. Comr. M. Yusuf said the murder was discovered by several construction workers.

Police officers took Buang into custody and transported Icih's body to the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital morgue.

Yusuf said the police were looking for Rudi, who disappeared after being told that Icih had been killed by her husband. Police also questioned Buang and Icih's children, Dede, 20, and Lis, 16, who were aware of their mother's relationship with Rudi.(01)
