Houses razed by firecrackers

TEGAL, Central Java: Four people were injured and six houses severely damaged by an explosion and fire believed to have been started by firecrackers, Antara reported.

Police investigating the explosion found 15 sacks of firecrackers in one of the houses in West Tegal.

Preliminary findings suggest one of the houses had been used to produce firecrackers. The explosion occurred when the house owner put too much ammunition in one of them.

"It was so loud you could hear it two kilometers away," a villager said. (emb)
