Houses for fishermen
UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: Minister of Public Housing Akbar Tanjung has pledged support and assistance for the local administration's plan to build 400 houses for poor fishermen.
Laelae Island's slum dwellers will be resettled in a new housing complex which will be erected on a 26 hectare plot of land. The local administration has allocated Rp 5 billion (approximately US$ 2.3 million) for the project, Antara reported.
A construction company, under the Latief Group of companies, will be given the contract for the project, Mayor Malik B. Masry said. (swe)
