Housemaid reports rape

JAKARTA (JP): A 17-year-old maid told the Menteng police
subprecinct yesterday that her employer had raped her.

The maid, Tn, who works for Jumadi who lives on Jl. Menteng
Tenggulun, Central Jakarta, said Jumadi raped her last Thursday
night.

Menteng Police Chief Capt. Chairul said police were waiting
for the result of a medical examination.

He said police had difficulties with the case because of a
lack of material evidence. "It was probably sexual consent,"
Chairul said.

Jumadi's wife, IM, who accompanied the maid said she would
divorce her husband, saying he often slept with her maids.

IM, a dangdut singer at a South Jakarta discotheque, said her
maid was first raped when she was in Palembang, South Sumatra.
