House deputies' job description approved
JAKARTA (JP): House Speaker Harmoko has approved the job descriptions of his four deputies, and the lineup of the legislative body's commissions and agencies.
In a plenary meeting here Wednesday, Harmoko said that Deputy House Speaker Syarwan Hamid of the Armed Forces (ABRI) faction would be in charge of political affairs, while Abdul Gafur of the dominant Golkar faction would act as coordinator for economic affairs.
Ismail Hasan Metareum of the United Development Party (PPP) faction will coordinate industry and development affairs, and Fatimah Achmad of the tiny Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI) faction will be in charge of people's welfare issues.
The 1997 to 2002 House of Representatives now has eight commissions.
The last House had ten commissions.
The new House Commission I will deal with security and defense, legal and information affairs.
It will be chaired by PPP's Aisyah Amini and have 60 members from the four factions, including Aminullah Ibrahim, Ansel Da Lopez, Sofyan Lubis, Slamet Efendy Yusuf, Hadimulyo and YB Wiyanjono.
Commission II for domestic and foreign political affairs will be chaired by Budi Harsono of the Armed Forces and have 62 members including Soetojo NK, Abu Hasan Sazili, Amir Santoso, Lukman Harun, Hari Sabarno, Jusuf Syakir and Sujanto.
Commission III will be chaired by Umbu Mehang Kunda of Golkar, and will have 62 members including Ary Mardjono, H. Zain Badjeber, H.A.M. Saefuddin, and Sebastian Massardy Kephat.
It will deal with agriculture, forestry, transmigration and food affairs.
Commission IV for public works will be chaired by Ferdinand Potu Dotulong Lengkey, and will have 62 members including Abdullah Alatas Fahmi, Budi Hariyanto, Gandhy Natasupadma, H. Ali Hardi Kiaidemak, and Panangian Siregar.
Commission V will be chaired Marzuki Achmad of Golkar, and have 63 members including Hj Gunarijah RM Karstasasmita, Nanny Dading Kalbudi, Samsoedin, Muchsin Bafadal, Tosari Widjaya, and Budi Hardjono.
Commission V will deal with, among other things, manpower and trade.
Commission VI will be chaired by Ida Yusi Dahlan from Golkar, and will have 59 members including RS Museno, Momo Kelana, Ermalena and Idi Siswaya.
It will deal with, among other things, health and social affairs.
Commission VII for education, religion, sport and youth affairs will be chaired by Zarkasih Nur of PPP and will have 61 members including B.J. Nikentari Musdiono, Muhammad Fikri, Abduh Paddare and Bambang Mintoko.
Commission VIII for state budget and finance, research and technology will be chaired by Gde Artjana of the ABRI faction and will have 65 members including Indra Bambang Utoyo, Harris Ali Moerfi, Marwah Daud Ibrahim, Namuri Anoem, Tayo Tarmadi, Hamzah Haz and Markus Wauran.
The House also has an Internal House Affairs Agency which will be chaired by Soelaiman Biyahimo of PPP.
The agency has 60 members.
The Interparliamentary Cooperation Agency will be chaired by Zamharir A. Radhi of Golkar and will have 50 members. (imn/swe)
