Hotline service for crisis victims
JAKARTA (JP): The psychology school of the University of Indonesia (UI) has launched a hotline service for people traumatized by the economic crisis and recent social unrest, Antara reported.
The project's chairwoman, Saparinah Sadli, said yesterday the economic crisis and recent riots in the city had led to serious psychological problems in the population, with some people experiencing panic attacks, depression and trauma.
"The hotline service is intended to provide these people assistance and advice," she said.
People are invited to contact the hotline service at 7888-1376 and 786-3523, from Monday to the end of September.
The lines will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday.
