Hotel Gran Mahakam opens

JAKARTA (JP): Hotel Gran Mahakam, located on Jl. Mahakam I near Blok M mall in South Jakarta, is scheduled to start operation tomorrow, its spokeswoman said in a statement yesterday.

The eight-story business hotel has a total of 162 rooms, including six business suites, eight apartments and a room for the disabled, Maya Moeljadi said.

The European style hotel is equipped with facilities ranging from an executive lounge, swimming pool, fitness center and sauna to a library, business center and drugstore.

Meeting and banquet facilities are also available with a capacity of accommodating up to 260 guests. The hotel's ballroom can be divided into three separate rooms each with a capacity of 40 persons, Maya said.

"The coffee shop, located on the second level overlooking the lounge bar below, serves an array of buffet of both Western and Indonesian dishes. The Japanese restaurant is adjacent to the lounge bar and has its own private entrance as well as the English pub," she said.

Hotel Gran Mahakam is associated with Sofitel, the five-star brand of Accor. (hhr)
