Hospital to provide bird flu rooms

BENGKULU: As part of efforts to prevent bird flu fatalities, Mohammad Yunus Hospital has provided nine rooms to house patients with symptoms of the virus or other communicable diseases. Some rooms are being used for patients infected with respiratory related diseases, said Syarifudin, the hospital's president director.

So far, there have not been any known cases of Bengkulu residents contracting bird flu. "However, we'd better prepare for the worst," said Syarifudin. -- Antara
