SURABAYA, East Java: The local administration is holding a
five-day exhibition in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to promote the
province's fruit and other horticultural products.

Opened yesterday, the promotion seeks to increase export of
East Java's tropical fruits to the oil-rich country, Antara
quoted Soedirman, head of local trade and economic office, saying
yesterday.

Through similar programs, East Java has succeeded entering
Hong Kong and Singapore fruit markets, Soedirman said. (swe)
